The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs is the fourth expansion pack for The Sims 4. It parallels the well-known Dogs and Cats from previous installments in that it gives you the ability to create your own pets, care for them, take them outside (to pee) and train them (with special commands).
The game also features a veterinarian some functions from The Sims 3 Pets, for example being able to visit the vet clinic where you can have your pets fixed. There’s also a new apartment building which features a veterinary office and allows you to rent a pet-friendly apartment.
There is a new world as well, Brindleton Bay, that features this apartment building as well as beaches! The main source of information about this game is this wiki (and very few screenshots!) so feel free to contribute!
What’s new in Cats and Dogs?
- Cats and dogs, obviously in the title. But what else?
- Breeds! – You can now create your own breeds via editing in CAS. There are over 50 different dog breeds and 11 different cat breeds.
- Pregnancy – Cats can get pregnant, have kittens, fight with the dogs over their food bowl… Just like in real life.
- Training – Sims can teach commands to their pets through a new mini game that requires some skills. You can also train your pets at the vet clinic to behave better when they’re at home (and to stop eating the couch!)
- Woohoo – Perhaps one of the weirdest additions to this pack. You can now woohoo with your pet. There is also a new “play” interaction where you can wrestle, play fetch and more!
- Breeding – When two pets mate… they create offspring! The game also features adoption.
- New Additions – New interactions include pet tricks, playing with toys and objects in the game (basketballs, fire hydrants), there are even new pet beds to sleep in!
- New Traits – When your Sim interacts with the dog park you can gain traits like an aggressive (and grumpy) dog or an excitable one.
- New Skills – There are new pet skills, including “meow” (cats only), hunting (cats and dogs) and obedience (dogs only).

The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. No plans have been announced yet for Mac or game consoles.

As with all Expansion and Stuff Packs, please remember to uninstall the old version of the pack prior to installing a new one. This is particularly important with Pets due to its changes to core files.
How long does it take for pet to age up in Sims 4?
The Sims 4 Edit. Once the elder Sim’s age meter is full, it may take up to 48 hours on normal lifespan for the Sim to pass away. Elders with the Long Lived reward trait from completing the Bodybuilder aspiration will live significantly longer than normal, even to the point where their own children are elders.
Conclusion
Due to the low amount of information available for this pack at the time, I would say it’s a must buy. It comes with over 40 new items, woohoo with your pet, pet traits and skills… need I go on? There are even more features that have not been mentioned here!
